From Legacy to Leadership in Quranic Education
The story of Alfitrah Academy begins with a legacy that spans over five decades. Rooted in the pioneering efforts of Anjuman Ta’aleemul Quran (ATQ), Alfitrah is the result of a long-standing dream — to create a nurturing space where the pure nature (fitrah) of children is preserved and shaped by the Quran and Sunnah.
📍1973 — The Seed is Planted
In the town of Kozhikode, a group of committed scholars and visionaries formed ATQ to make Quranic education structured and accessible in Kerala. Through Qir’ath and Hifz competitions, public classes, and the launch of Ta’aleemul Quran College, ATQ kindled a passion for Quran among thousands.
The foundation was laid for a movement that connected hearts to the Book of Allah.
📍2012 — Alfitrah Academy is Born
Recognising the need for values-based early childhood education, ATQ launched Alfitrah Islamic Preschool in Kozhikode. The school followed the innovative Noorul Bayan-wel Fathurabbani methodology — enabling joyful, effective Quranic learning for children aged 3–6.

📍 2013–2017 — Steady Growth & Early Impact
Word spread quickly, and Alfitrah centres began emerging across Kerala and South India.
The first batch of young Hifz students completed their memorization, marking a key milestone.
Parents embraced the blend of spiritual, academic, and character education that Alfitrah offered.
📍 2020 — Innovation in Crisis: e-Dirasat is Launched
When the global pandemic disrupted traditional learning, Alfitrah responded swiftly.
The e-Dirasat online platform was launched to ensure Quranic learning continued seamlessly across borders. This platform now supports learners across India and the Gulf.
📍 2023 — A Growing Network of Excellence
By 2023, Alfitrah Academy had:
Over 150+ affiliate centres.
Presence across South India and the Middle East.
Recognition for academic quality, Quranic excellence, and holistic pedagogy.
